I loved drawing and making things as a child. When I 'grew up', I continued making things as an industrial and user experience designer, working on products that ranged from smart jackets to educational sensor kits.
I love that surface pattern design allows me to explore and enjoy many ways of creating, for things that we use every day. My patterns are playful. The handcrafted textures of the motifs celebrate how they were made.
P.S. In case you're wondering 'Why Mayillo?' - My family calls me May and illo stands for illustration and my childhood dream of drawing for a living :)
